Council in attempt to secure Albion Square development partner

HULL City Council is ramping up efforts to attract interest in the Albion Square development project.

In February, the council's cabinet approved plans to seek a development partner to help "share the risk" of the scheme.

The authority has now launched a pre-market engagement exercise welcoming expressions of interest.

At the cabinet meeting, it was also agreed that, until a development partner is found, the council would pay contractor VINCI Construction £45,000 a month to keep the site secure.

The purpose of the engagement process is for the authority to gauge interest in the project and for potentially interested parties to receive information about the scheme and present their plans for the site.
