Brierley reveals Salford's biggest roadblocks

NEW Salford CEO Ryan Brierley has opened up about the immediate struggles the phoenix club has faced following the winding-up of the Red Devils in December.

The former fullback has called time on his 14-year playing career to help lead Salford into a new era, with ex-Toronto Wolfpack teammate Mason Caton-Brown spearheading the successful bid to relaunch the club.

Salford have been granted Rugby Football League membership for the 2026 Championship season, leaving just two weeks to assemble a squad, appoint a head coach and put together backroom staff.

Brierley however remains confident ahead of their opening fixture against Oldham on January 16, but has been candid about the challenges the club faces following the previous ownership's regime.
