Brexit has not failed, it hasn't got going yet

ONCE again, a know-all Remainer crops up with a different set of figures.

this time the UK’s contribution was £13bn, the actual figure for 2020 was £17.5bn after the rebate, less a hopeful £6bn. This last figure is not quantified as the EU accounts aren’t signed off.

These figures come from the House of Commons Library's (HoCL) own statistics, where do John O’Mullane’s (Mailbox, August 6) figure, and Peter Brown’s optimistic figures come from, one has to wonder. Once again Remainers cannot agree. How can they be taken seriously?

The figure of £100bn lost trade quoted by John was debunked a while back as being double the actual amount, and the loss of trade is variously quoted as 1 per cent, 4 per cent or in some Remainers’ figures even higher.
