Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday said that the "Delhi Chalo" march and the subsequent protest being organised by certain farmer unions in Punjab and Haryana were "undemocratic and inappropriate". Khattar remarks came even as his government sealed the Punjab-Haryana borders at Ambala, Jind, Fatehabad and Sirsa districts to prevent the entry of Punjab farmers on February 13.

"These protests are not appropriate. Instead of taking public transport, protesters prefer to travel on their tractors...to maintain the law and order, we have to stay prepared. Protest should be staged according to the standards of the democracy," he said, while speaking at an event in Panchkula.
Khattar's remark came a day before three Union government ministers food and consumer affairs minister Piyush Goyal, agriculture minister Arjun Munda and minister for state for home Nityanand Rai - will meet farmer bodies on Monday in Chandigarh. This would be their second meeting in five days.
