{'TOTALLY UNFOUNDED'} DENIAL AFTER U.S. MAKES MULTIPLE ARRESTS

Iran rejects Trump assassination plot claims

Iran's foreign ministry has firmly rejected US accusations that Tehran was involved in a plot to assassinate president-elect Donald Trump. The claims were labelled "totally unfounded" by Iranian officials, with foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei issuing a statement on Saturday denying any involvement in an alleged assassination attempt against former or current American officials. This response came after US prosecutors filed charges related to the alleged plot.

"We reject the allegations that Iran is implicated in any such attempts against US officials," Baghaei said, emphasising Iran's position on the matter.
