Akhilesh, Rahul launch joint attack on Centre

Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday joined the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Agra as the two INDIA bloc members launched a combined attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
Sharing the stage with Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Akhilesh accused the central government of attacking the basic tenants of democracy.
"The challenge before us is to save democracy and the Constitution. Baba Saheb [Dr BR Ambedkar] dreamt that the rights of the backward and the poor are secured and they are respected. The BJP has worked against these groups, and deprived them of the respect they were getting," the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister said as he also took part in a roadshow on the last of the Congress march in the state.
