Lieutenant governor VK Saxena on Sunday accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi of using his office and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led central government as "alibis" after failing to deliver on the mandate of the people.

AAP Used LG's Office, Centre As Alibi For Own Failures: LG

Saxena also criticised the AAP government for not tabling the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) audit report covering key issues - Delhi's liquor policy, vehicular pollution, public health, and the performance of government departments from 2017-18 to 2020-21.

The AAP dismissed the LG's remarks, claiming that law and order in the Capital has collapsed under his watch.

Speaking in a podcast with former BJP vice president Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, Saxena said that Delhi is a Union territory, and the LG is an administrator, according to the scheme of things in the Constitution.
