Hindustan Times
|April 05, 2025
The passage of the Waqf Amendment Bill in Parliament triggered rumblings in key NDA member, the Janata Dal (United), after a number of local leaders resigned on Friday.
The party backed the contentious bill, arguing that it helped poor Muslims and accused the Opposition of spreading fear about the legislation.
The four JD(U) leaders, including two state office-bearers, resigned citing disagreement with the stance of the party that receives a substantial chunk of Muslim votes in Bihar.
