Court rejects Ansari’s plea in remarks case

The MP/MLA court has dismissed health minister Irfan Ansar's petition seeking exemption from personal appearance ina complaint case filed by yoga teacher and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Rafiya Naz, over allegedly objectionable remarks he made against her on a news channel, a civil court advocate said on Thursday.

“The MP/MLA court of Judicial Magistrate Sarthak Sharma dismissed the petition on Wednesday, directing the appearance of the accused on July 31,” the lawyer said. Ansari refused to comment on the matter when contacted. “No comment. Why give weightage to such a matter?” he said.
