At least 5,000 villages in Rajasthan will be made poverty-free during the first phase of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Antodyaya Sambal Pakhwada, a campaign that has been launched on Tuesday to reach out to the backward sections of the state and get them included in all the available government schemes and policies, chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said.
JAIPUR:
Launching the event in Jaipur's Vichur village, the CM said, "The first phase of this campaign will be continued till July 9 during which the officials and the ministers will reach out to the areas and people that are still at the most backward stage in the state. We will proceed the long-time pending works of those people and areas, get the people included in all the available government schemes for them during this campaign."
He also said that the officials will conduct a survey across 10,000 villages under the BPL category and figure out the requirements for their development.
"We are committed to the manifesto that we kept before all of you before the election. We have done a pile of works in only two years that the Congress government failed to do in five years. We believe in action, not words," said the CM.
