Uproar in Assembly Over Anuprati Payment Delay

The assembly witnessed an uproar during the question hour on Monday with Congress MLAs staging a protest over the issue of students preparing for competitive exams not receiving funds under the Anuprati Coaching Scheme.

JAIPUR: The Congress MLAs also walked out of the House, intensifying the political confrontation over delayed payments.

In response to Congress MLA Rafiq Khan's question, social justice and empowerment minister Avinash Gehlot said that coaching institutes were selected under the Anuprati Scheme based on a target. He added that officials from various states, including Gujarat and Punjab, visited Rajasthan to study the scheme. "Our government is running the scheme efficiently, and we have paid the outstanding dues from the previous Congress government. Our target is to benefit 50,000 students," said Gehlot.

However, Leader of the Opposition Tika Ram Jully and Congress MLA Rafiq Khan rejected the minister's response, calling it misleading. "Why haven't the students, who were supposed to receive their payments in June-July, been paid yet? Who is responsible for this delay, and what action will be taken against them?" Jully asked.
