BJP Ruined Health Model, Beds Not Available for Patients: Gehlot

Former chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led state government saying that the party has totally destroyed Rajasthan's health model, which earlier stood as an example for the entire country.

JAIPUR: Former chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led state government saying that the party has totally destroyed Rajasthan's health model, which earlier stood as an example for the entire country.

"In the last one year, this government had destroyed the Rajasthan health model by all means. Earlier, patients from Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Gujarat used to visit the government hospitals in Rajasthan for treatment. But, now the hospitals across the state are running out of beds for patients belonging to the state itself. The people of Rajasthan regret every day that they elected some people who ruined the state after falling prey to ₹5 lakh and ₹50 lakh compensations," Gehlot wrote on X, taking a dig at the BJP's promise to provide up to ₹5 lakh to people for their treatment under the central government's Ayushman Bharat scheme and also coverage for everyone with up to ₹50 lakh cashless treatment by extending the Chiranjeevi scheme, implemented by the earlier Congress-led state government.
