India a ‘preferred destination’ for GCCs, says Goyal

In the last ll years, the government has established massive power-sector infrastructure, including a synchronous 500-gigawatt grid suitable to make India a hub for Global Capability Centers (GCCs) and data centres, Union commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal said on Monday.
Highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's conscious strategy to establish surplus power capacity with the right mix of clean energy, Goyal said this is one of the key reasons that India isa “preferred destination” for global data centres and GCCs.
