The special investigation team (SIT) of Assam Police criminal investigation department (CID) on Wednesday arrested Shyamkanu Mahanata and Siddharth Sharma, the chief organiser of North East India Festival (NEIF) and manager of Zubeen Garg, respectively, in connection with Garg’s death in Singapore earlier this month, police said on Wednesday.
Officials said that Mahanta was arrested at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport on Wednesday shortly after he landed from Singapore on an Air India flight at 12.19am on Wednesday.
NEIF was held in Singapore which Garg had gone to attend before dying when he had gone swimming on September 19.
Sharma was nabbed from an apartment in Gurugram. The two were brought from Delhi to Guwahati by an Air India Express flight that landed at 6.43am at the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) airport on Wednesday.
