RJD kicks off 'iftar' politics to win back Seemanchal Muslims

Leader of Opposition in Bihar assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, is all set to host 'Iftar Party' on Saturday in Baisi assembly segment, a part of Kishanganj Parliamentary constituency in Seemanchal in a bid to amplify RJD's efforts to make inroads into Muslim voters ahead of this year's assembly polls in the state.

It is said that hordes of party leaders are going to attend it.
Seemanchal, comprising Purnia, Katihar, Kishanganj and Araria districts with 24 assembly seats, has a substantial Muslim population ranging from 30% to 70% in different pockets. RJD had fared worst in 2020 when it won just one seat in Seemanchal.
"The Iftar party is going to be one of the biggest events with 10,000 people from all the four districts going to take part in it," ex-minister and senior party leader Haji Abdul Subhan said, adding, "MLAs, ex-MLAs, MPs, ex-MPs, and party functionaries will attend the party."
