Bihar’s rural development minister Shravan Kumar, along with local Hilsa MLA Krishna Murari alias Prem Mukhiya -- both from Janata Dal (United) -- faced people's ire, and, according to accounts and viral videos, had to run to safety when by angry villagers chased them after they visited Malama village at around 10am on Wednesday to meet the kin of those killed in a road mishap in Patna on August 23.

Viral videos show the minister almost running, clutching his dhoti , while security personnel and party workers struggled to shield him.

This is the second time in three days that two ministers from the Nitish Kumar cabinet caught in the whirlwind of people’s ire. Earlier on Monday, the cavalcade of health minister Mangal Pandey was attacked by an angry mob in Patna.

Villagers were angry over the delay in payment of compensation to the kin of victims of a road accident in which nine people were killed, including eight women on Saturday while they were on their way to take a holy dip in the Ganga at Shahjahanpur police station of rural Patna.
