PATNA: Infighting within the state Congress remains unabated despite the change of guard and enhanced intervention of senior party leaders including leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi.

The squabbling in the organisation surfaced at the meeting of newly appointed district committee presidents, attended by former Congress president Rahul Gandhi, at the Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) headquarter-Sadaquat Ashram-on Monday last.

Reports said that former Riga MLA Amit Kumar Tunna allegedly thrashed a supporter of former BPCC chief and Rajya Sabha member Akhilesh Prasad Singh minutes after Rahul Gandhi's departure from the venue.

A section of the party leaders claimed that Akhilesh Singh's supporter had abused the former MLA and sought to shadow him at Rahul Gandhi's meeting.
