GA Accuses NDA of Promoting Dynasty

The Congress party and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), together forming the opposition bloc called Grand Alliance (GA), on Monday attacked the Nitish Kumar-led ruling dispensation for pursuing dynastic politics in the constitution of various commissions.

On Saturday night, the general administration department (GAD) notified the reconstitution of the state scheduled caste commission, naming Dhanjay Kumar alias Mirnal Paswan as its chairman and Devendra Manjhi as its vice chairman. Mrinal Paswan is the stepbrother-in-law of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan, while Devendra Manjhi is the son-in-law of Hindustani Awam Morcha-Secular (HAM-S) leader Jitan Ram Manjhi.

"The way close relatives of NDA leaders are being accommodated in various commissions is a clear indication that the BJP and its allies are indulging in promoting dynastic politics. Contrarily, they accuse the Congress, a thoroughly democratic party, of engaging in nepotism," alleged a senior Congress leader, Kishore Kumar Jha.
