College students protest after attack on campus

The injured student, identified as Mayank Kumar, was admitted to IGIMS Hospital after a gunshot injury to his hand on Thursday. His condition said to be stable.

Several students gathered at the gate of one of the top colleges in the state capital on Friday morning, demanding that the security at the campus be beefed up.

“Our first demand is that the culprits of Thursday evening's incident should be punished. Second, the college campus is open, and anyone enters the premises and passes comments on us. There is no safety; we have complained about it in writing several times. We want action. Till the time proper action is not taken, our strike will continue,” said Sakshi, a student of the college.
