Bihar police to deploy Nayabs & court officers to speed up trials

In a bid to speed up the trial process to bring down the huge number of pending cases, Bihar police has decided to deploy Court officers and Court Nayabs on the line of Delhi police and the CBI, said a senior official at the police headquarters.

PATNA:

At present, there are around 17 lakh pending cases in Bihar's different courts. Bihar has around 1,800 Sessions and Magisterial Courts besides 1,386 police stations. The Court Nayab (Nyayalay), Court Nayab (Thana) who will be constable/havildar or ASI ranks would be entrusted with the responsibility of quick compliance of court summons, property attachment orders, arrest warrants, red warrants and non-bailable warrants. Court Officers will be the rank of SI or ASI. Court Nayab (Nyayalay) deputed in every court while Court Nayab (Thana) in every police station.

Both will meet each other in the court premises and share information and paper related issues.
