Ramzan is a time when wardrobes begin to shift. While soft muslins come out for iftar evenings, heavier silks and brocades remain reserved for Eid. Amid several options, two silhouettes make a confident comeback, year after year: the sharara and the gharara.

The sharara and gharara trace their roots to the Mughal courts between the 16th and 19th centuries.
