Overflow woe prompts 20km master sewer line along e-way

NOIDA: The Noida Authority has decided to construct a 20.4 km-long master sewer network along both sides of the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, from Advant Mall (Sector 137/168) to Sector 145/150, in an infrastructural push to tackle sewage overflow issues.

In absence of a functional master sewer line, waste has been seeping into green belts, and damaging trees, officials said. The announcement was made on Sunday, with officials stating that the project is aimed at addressing mounting sanitation concerns in this rapidly developing stretch, officials said.

RP Singh, general manager of the Noida authority's water works department, confirmed the approval of a ₹39 crore estimate for constructing a 10.2km stretch of the line along both sides of the expressway. "The work will begin soon after the necessary formalities are completed," Singh said.
