Kejriwal asks MLAs to focus on welfare

A day after the Aam Aadmi Party's drubbing in the Delhi Assembly elections, party national convener Arvind Kejriwal held a meeting with 22 newly elected legislators on the works to undertake in their respective constituencies, even as AAP officials said that the party will analyse the mistakes that led to a loss in other seats as part of "course correction".

During the meeting, Kejriwal asked the MLAs to work with "full commitment" in the 22 constituencies, "prioritise public welfare and address grievances", officials said.

The party will also act as a "responsible Opposition", ensuring that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) fulfils its election promises, including monthly financial assistance to women and the continuation of key public welfare schemes, former chief minister Atishi, who managed to retain the Kalkaji seat, said.

The AAP will also make sure that the BJP does not obstruct or undo the developmental work accomplished by the AAP over the past ten years, she said.
