Fifteen people have been detained after protests against alleged vandalism at a temple in Jaipur district of Rajasthan turned violent on Saturday, police officials said, adding that police resorted to use of mild force to disperse the mob led by Hindu groups.

Protests erupted after an idol of a Hindu deity at the Veer Tejaji temple on Tonk Road in Jaipur was allegedly vandalised early on Saturday. Police arrested the prime accused late on Saturday in this connection.
