Rahul calls for Bharat Ratna for Kanshi Ram

Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Sunday wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, demanding that Kanshi Ram, a champion of Dalit rights, be awarded the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honour.
“As we commemorate the birth anniversary of Kanshi Ram ji today and reflect on his legacy and contributions, I write with a request that he be awarded the Bharat Ratna posthumously,” he said in the letter.
