U.P. FORENSIC TRAINING PROG BEGINS

In a heartfelt tribute to legendary tabla maestro Ustad Zakir Hussain, an Antim Ardas and Sukhmani Sahib path was held at Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Unnao on Monday.

LUCKNOW: The event, arranged by Hussain's guru bhai and renowned tabla exponent Sheikh Ibrahim, aimed to honor his legacy and pray for the peace of his departed soul.

Ibrahim, who hails from Unnao, shared that Hussain, originally from the Punjab gharana, had a deep connection to Punjab and its people. "He performed in Punjab every year, and this Ardas is my way of paying tribute to him," said Ibrahim.

The gathering, which saw participants from Unnao, Kanpur, and Lucknow, reflected the unity of the music community. Ibrahim said that many Sikhs around the world perform the Punjab gharana's tabla, underscoring the significance of the prayers being held at a gurdwara. "Music transcends all barriers and promotes communal harmony," he added.

The ceremony was followed by a langar, a community feast, symbolising the spirit of unity and shared celebration.
