Sena minister's ‘cash bag’ video sparks row
Hindustan Times Lucknow
|July 12, 2025
A day after social justice minister Sanjay Shirsat received a notice from the Income Tax department regarding a surge in his assets, a video of him emerged on social media in which he is purportedly seen sitting on a bed with what appears to be bundles of currency notes in a bag beside him.
The video was shared online by Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Friday. Shirsat, Shiv Sena MLA from Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar and a close aide of deputy CM Eknath Shinde, has dismissed the claim, saying that the bag contained only clothes.
