Row As U.P. Cleric Slams Shami For Not Fasting

The national president of the All India Muslim Jamaat, Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi, stirred a row after he called cricketer Mohammed Shami, who is part of India's team qualified for ICC Champion's Trophy final, a "criminal" for not fasting during the month of Ramzan.
NEW DELHI:
In a video, Shahabuddin said Shami was seen drinking something from a bottle on the field during a match against Australia on Tuesday. "In the eyes of Shariat, he is a criminal, he should not have done this at all," he said.
