IN THE FOURTH FRAME, MALKEET SEALED THE MATCH WITH AN OUTSTANDING BREAK OF 131 THE HIGHEST OF THE TOURNAMENT SO FAR.
LUCKNOW: The fifth day of the Tanuj Kohli Memorial North India Open Tournament witnessed a tussle of two local challengers Malkeet Singh and Akshay Kumar, and it turned to be a one-sided affair with Singh walking away with a convincing 4-0 win, at the Green Baize here on Friday.
Despite playing in home conditions and on his favourite table, Akshay found the going tough as Malkeet Singh of Railways took 2-0 lead, winning the first two frames by 59-27, 81-50. This match showcased tactical brilliance and precision. The highlight came in the third frame when, despite Akshay's 47-point lead, Malkeet stunned with a break of 87. In the fourth frame, Malkeet sealed the match with an outstanding break of 131 - the highest of the tournament so far.
