Local body elections after HC verdict on quota: T'gana govt

The Telangana cabinet chaired by chief minister ‘A Revanth Reddy on Thursday decided not to go ahead with the elections to the local bodies in the state, till the state high court delivers its judgment on extending 42% reservations to the other backward classes (OBCs).
Briefing reporters after the cabinet meeting, state information and public relations minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said the state government would take a call on the conduct of local body elections only after going through the judgment of the state high court on the enhanced OBC quota.
