Karni Sena People Resort to Vandalism Outside SP MP's Residence in Agra

Karni Sena people on Wednesday resorted to vandalism outside the residence of Samajwadi Party Rajya Sabha MP Ramjilal Suman in Agra in protest against his last week's remark cited as an insult to medieval ruler Rana Sanga.

The attackers could not enter the house but damaged chairs outside the ground floor apartment and cars parked nearby.

Several police personnel, including the in-charge of the Hariparvat police station, were injured while trying to stop the activists, according to the police. Senior police officers are in the process of ascertaining the number of police personnel injured in the incident.

The SP MP was not in the house when the attack took place but later his son Ranjit Suman came out to protest against the incident. A tehrir (written complaint) has been received from Ranjit Suman, the son of Samajwadi Party MP Ramjilal Suman, with regard to Wednesday's violence, said Akshay M, the officer in charge of Hariparvat police station.
