UK’s Prince Andrew asked cops to help smear sex abuse accuser

LONDON: London police are probing whether Prince Andrew asked an officer assigned to him asa bodyguard to dig up dirton sexual assault accuser Virginia Giuffre, AP reported.
Giuffre had accused Andrew of sexually abusing her asa teenager.
London's Metropolitan Police said it was “actively looking” into the allegations that Andrew in 2011 sought information to smear Giuffre by asking an officer on the force to find out if she had a criminal record, and to dig up any other personal information, AP and Reuters reported.
The allegations were first reported in a British newspaper days after the royal gave up his Duke of York title.
