Earlier Govt Had Said That Summer Break Will Begin From July 1
Srinagar: Owing to the prevailing heatwave conditions, the Jammu and Kashmir government on Saturday declared summer break in schools from Monday.
Earlier, the government had said that summer break would begin from July 1. The information was shared by Jammu and Kashmir education minister Sakina Itoo on her social media handle X.
Srinagar on Saturday recorded 34.8 degrees Celsius, 4.6 degrees above normal. For the past week, all weather stations in Kashmir have recorded above-normal temperatures, both day and night.
On Friday, Srinagar witnessed the season's highest temperature of 35.5 degrees Celsius, the highest in June in two decades.
