NEW DELHI: The Delhi high court has condemned societal norms that pressure women to endure abuse in their marital homes, asserting that such attitudes embolden perpetrators and can lead to tragedies like dowry-related murders.
The court's remarks came in a January 16 verdict, released Friday, in a dowry death case where a woman was allegedly killed by her husband within two months of marriage due to unmet dowry demands.
