Odisha student who 'set herself on fire' dies

A 17-year-old girl, who sustained 92% burn injuries after allegedly setting herself on fire at her residence in Sundargarh district on Friday night, died during treatment at Ispat General Hospital (IGH) Rourkela on Monday, police said.
Doctors said the victim passed away owing to multiple organ failures triggered by the massive burn injuries.
According to Sundargarh SP Amritpal Kaur, preliminary enquiries suggested that the girl, a student of local college in Rajgangpur area was being harassed by a 24-year-old porter in a passenger bus shortly before the incident. Police have arrested the man.
