Man Acquitted in Hathras Case Files Defamation Suit Against Rahul

A man acquitted in the 2020 Hathras gang rape and murder case filed a ₹50 lakh defamation suit against Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Friday for allegedly making derogatory statements about him.

The suit was filed by Ram Kumar in the Hathras MP/MLA court, which has fixed February 10 for the next hearing. According to the petition, Gandhi made objectionable remarks against Kumar for "political gains" when he visited the victim's family in December 2024.
