JNU Throws Open Online Admission for PhD Candidates

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) opened online applications for PhD admissions for the academic year 2025-26 on Thursday, amidst the declaration of an indefinite hunger strike by the JNU students' union (JNUSU) from Thursday night.
NEW DELHI:
According to the official schedule released by JNU, the online submission of Ph.D. application forms will take place from 26th June to 7th July 2025. The final deadline for admission and registration is 30th September 2025.
The protest is the aftermath of the university deciding to exclude students appearing in the June 2025 UGC-NET. JNUSU also demanded reinstatement of the JNU Entrance Examination for PhD admissions. They have vowed to continue their hunger strike until the demands are met.
