Flood toll in AP at 258; 171 in HP: Govt

Andhra Pradesh recorded the highest loss of lives due to intense monsoon rainfall between April 1 and July 16 this year with 258 persons killed; followed by 171 deaths in Himachal Pradesh, 148 deaths in Madhya Pradesh and 101 in Bihar, Ministry of Home Affairs has informed Lok Sabha.
Himachal Pradesh also recorded a loss of 23818 cattle and 1528 homes. In Madhya Pradesh also there were 325 cattle deaths and 986 homes damaged.
Assam recorded the highest damage to cropped area covering 29714.89 ha.
