Administration's role confined to maintaining law and order: HC

While noting that administration's role is confined to maintaining law and order and cannot extend to deciding questions of possession or title of property, the Allahabad high court has criticised the Prayagraj district administration for its unlawful land seizure and also unlawfully intervening in private property.

The court also directed the district magistrate, Prayagraj, to restore possession of disputed property to its legal owner as it stood before the administrative intervention on July 22, 2024.
