Yatnal-led team to meet Delhi leaders amid tussle

A group of senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders from Karnataka will meet the party's central leadership in New Delhi on Tuesday to demand the removal of state unit president BY Vijayendra, MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal said on Monday.

BENGALURU: The leaders have accused Vijayendra and his father, veteran leader BS Yediyurappa, of promoting dynastic politics, corruption, and fostering a culture of favouritism within the party.

Yatnal, a legislator from Vijayapura, has been vocal in his criticism, labelling Vijayendra and his family as "corrupt" and accusing them of engaging in "adjustment politics" with the ruling Congress. He emphasised that the BJP must distance itself from such practices and uphold its core principles. "Do you want a corrupt family or honest and loyal party workers? The nepotism in the BJP should end. The leadership should be given into the hands of those who follow Hindutva, taking it away from a corrupt family," Yatnal told reporters.
