Sidda Urges Centre To Clear Key Road Projects

Chief minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday urged the Union government to approve key road projects aimed at enhancing connectivity, in a meeting in New Delhi with Union minister for road transport and highways, Nitin Gadkari.
BENGALURU: He also submitted a memorandum listing critical proposals requiring the Centre's approval.
Along with seeking approval for ongoing projects, the chief minister pressed for new infrastructure initiatives to improve traffic flow and connectivity across Karnataka.
"We request the Union minister for road transport and highways to approve the following projects, which are essential for upgrading state highways with over 10,000 PCU traffic volume and for improving Karnataka's economic and social development," he said. He also urged the Centre to expedite approval for the Pune-Bengaluru Greenfield Expressway and called for increasing the annual allocation for national highway projects to ₹24,000 crore for 2025-26.
