Exemptee assistant sub-inspector (EAST) Sushil Kumar, who is the key witness in the IPS officer Y Puran Kumar's suicide case, was shifted to Ambala jail from Rohtak’s Sunaria prison on Tuesday, officials familiar with the matter said. The development came two days after Sushil's wife, Soni Devi, wrote to top authoriti of the state governmentand judiciary, requesting them to transfer her husband to another jail citing “life threats” from two other prisoners.

‘According to jail officials, a probe has been initiated ona complaint filed by his wife with higher authorities. HT tried to reach out to Sushil’s family to know about any assurance given by the state authorities but they refused to comment.
