JD(U)'s Anant Singh among 3 arrested for Mokama poll murder

Former MLA and Janata Dal (United) leader Anant Singh and two of his aides have been arrested in connection with the murder of gangster-turned-politician Dularchand Yadav in Mokama in poll-bound Bihar, officials said on Sunday.
Singh, JD(U)'s candidate in Mokama, was produced before the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) in Patna on Sunday, and was remanded to 14-day judicial custody at Beur Central Jail. “The court sent Singh and two others to judicial custody for two weeks,” his lawyer Naveen Kumar told reporters.
Yadav, a campaigner for Jan Suraaj candidate Piyush Priyadarshi, died during electioneering in Mokama area of Patna district on October 30. Police said that Singh and his two aides — Manikant Thakur and Ranjit Ram — were arrested in connection with Yadav's murder from Bedna village on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday.
