Govt to complete Polavaram project by Oct 2026: Naidu

Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday said his government has set the target to complete the Polavaram irrigation project by October 2026 and expressed confidence that the irrigation project being constructed on Godavari River would get the recognition of an iconic project in the country.
HYDERABAD:
Accompanied by his cabinet colleagues, irrigation department officials and engineers of contracting firms, Naidu visited the Polavaram project site in Eluru district and reviewed the progress of the project work.
"We have set a target to complete the project by (October) 2026. I instructed the officials to work out the minutest details," Naidu said.
He asked the officials to stick to the deadline fixed by the Polavaram Project Authority to complete the work.
