24-yr-old throws acid on woman after being rejected for marriage

A 24-year-old man allegedly attacked his 19-year-old relative with acid in Chikkaballapura district on Tuesday after she refused to marry him, police said, adding that the man later attempted to end his life by setting himself on fire.
Police said that the accused, a resident of Shidlaghatta taluk, reportedly went to the woman's house on Tuesday at around 2.30pm and confronted her about her repeated rejections of his marriage proposals. The victim is related to the accused through her mother’s family.
