Two Arrested After Ludhiana Woman's Body Found in Bed Box

Investigators Said the Accused Strangled the Victim, Placed Her Body in a Bag, Wrapped It in a Blanket, and Put It Inside the Bed

NEW DELHI: A day after the Delhi Police recovered the decomposing body of a 35-year-old woman from a box bed at a flat in Shahdara, officers said on Saturday that two people had been arrested in connection with the case. The suspects were identified as 64-year-old tuition teacher Vivekanand Mishra, who owned the flat, and 29-year-old Abhay Kumar Jha. The victim, identified as Ludhiana resident Anjali Kumar, was allegedly killed on March 23. Her husband, Ashish Kumar, also a suspect, remains absconding.

According to police, Jha is a resident of Supaul district in Bihar, while Mishra and Ashish are originally from the same district. "All three knew each other for many years," police said, adding that they were still trying to determine the motive for the murder.
