Army Has Already Ordered A Probe Into The Incident

JAMMU: Police on Friday registered an FIR against army personnel, who allegedly assaulted a university professor on Thursday at Lam village on the LoC in Rajouri district.

"The police have registered an FIR at Nowshera police station against four to five Army personnel under Section 126(2) and 115(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for allegedly assaulting Liaqat Ali, an assistant professor at IGNOU," said a senior police officer.

Shortly after the alleged assault, the Indian Army ordered a probe on Friday.

The university professor had accused the troops of assaulting him during checking of vehicles in Lam village.
