Inconsiderate parking blocks way for emergency services to attend Brixham incident

EMERGENCY services in Devon have blasted drivers for poor parking after the fire service were unable to attend an incident.
This came in addition of the police telling parents to use “common sense” when picking up and dropping their children at school.
The warnings came after both the fire service and police took drivers in Brixham to task for poor parking. Taking to Facebook, a message from a spokesperson for Brixham Fire Station said that a car parked on double yellow lines had stopped crews from attending an incident at a property.
The statement, which was shared by the Brixham Coastguard Rescue Team, said: “[On] Saturday, May 24, at 11.30pm, we were called to an incident at a property on Higher Street in Brixham. When we approached Apters Hill, we were faced with a car parked on double yellow lines and not leaving enough gap for the fire engine to access Higher Street.
