UAE strongly condemns terror attack in Colorado

Authorities searched for evidence on Monday after a man with a makeshift flamethrower yelled “Free Palestine” and hurled an incendiary device into a group that had assembled to raise attention for Israeli hostages in Gaza.

Eight people were injured in the Sunday attack, some with burns.

The suspect, Mohamed Sabry Soliman, 45, was booked into the Boulder County jail north of Denver and expected to face charges in connection with the attack the FBI was investigating as a terrorist act. Court records show he was scheduled to appear in state court in Boulder at 1:30 p.m.

The United Arab Emirates has condemned in the strongest terms the terrorist attack that occurred in the city of Boulder, Colorado, in the United States, which resulted in injuries to a number of innocent people.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) affirmed that the UAE expresses its strong condemnation of these criminal and terrorist acts and its permanent rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism targeting innocent people.

The Ministry expressed its wishes for a speedy recovery for all the injured, and reaffirmed the UAE's solidarity with the government and people of the United States.

A man has been charged with a federal hate crime, according to court documents filed on Monday.
