Tourist arrested for reckless driving in Dubai

DUBAI: Dubai Police arrested a tourist and seized a rented vehicle he was driving recklessly on Sheikh Zayed Road, threatening the safety of road users, after a video clip was circulated on social media showing the vehicle suddenly swerving, indicating that its driver was behaving in a manner that was legally unacceptable and threatened lives, according to Brigadier Juma Salem Bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Directorate of Traffic at Dubai Police.

Bin Suwaidan explained that teams of the General Directorate of Traffic, in cooperation with the Electronic Investigation Department of the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation (CID), seized the vehicle after monitoring the driver while he was performing reckless stunts, boasting of his driving abilities, and putting his life and the lives of road users at direct risk.
